GIVE VINE AND DINE A SWIRL
Wine Events start January 15 at The Edgewater
SEATTLE, WA . . . . . The Edgewater will be pouring on the events in 2008 with a series of wine tastings, receptions and dinners throughout the spring. All events will begin at 6:30 p.m., and will feature guest speakers representing various Napa Valley and Washington wineries. In addition, The Edgewater’s new Executive Chef Jordan Mackey will be pairing specialty menus with the featured wines. For reservations, call 206-269-4575.
January 15, 2008 – Conn Creek Winery - Napa
Jeff McBride, winemaker of Conn Creek Winery in Napa will be the featured guest speaker. Chef Mackey will prepare a five course dinner with six featured wines, four from Conn Creek and two from the Chateau Ste. Michelle wine collection in Washington. The event will take place in the Forest Room. Cost is $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
January 31, 2008 – Starlite Winery and 2480 Winery – Napa
Ted Egan, sales director for the Starlite and 2480 wineries in Napa, will host a special Bourdeaux blend night. Guests will have the opportunity to play winemaker with a fun, hands-on approach to learning the differences in blending the five great grape varieties from Bordeaux – specifically from the vineyards of Starlite in Napa and Alexander Valley. Casual tapas reception immediately following. $45 per person, inclusive.
March 20, 2008 – McCrea Cellars & Boushey Vineyards – Washington
Doug McCrea, owner and winemaker of McCrea Cellars, and Dick Boushey, owner and grower of Boushey vineyards in Yakima will be celebrating Washington Wine Month with guests. McCrea’s famed Rhone-styled wines from Boushey vineyards will be complimented by a five course spring dinner prepared by Chef Mackey. A casual, meet and greet reception will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by dinner in the Forest Room. $90 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
March 27, 2008 – Chateau Ste. Michele – Washington
Join Master of Wine and Chateau Ste. Michele Director of Wine Education, Joel Butler, for a very special evening that pinpoints the differences in Washington wine appellations. There will be a blind tasting forum lead by Joel, along with discussion about the exciting vineyard development in Washington state. A seasonal tapas reception will follow. $50 per person, inclusive.
