Newport, RI  (April 3, 2009) – The historic Hotel Viking has offered “Per Diem” rates as set by the General Services Administration, to federal travelers on business, for nearly a decade. Now the Newport hotel will offer this rate midweek, for government employees, military, and federal workers for leisure travel. The Per Diem rates are $120 per night, now until May 31, 2009 and $178 per night, June 1, 2009 until September 30, 2009. These midweek rates are based on availability and do not include weekends, holidays and black out dates.
