(July 6, 2009) – Ocean Key Resort & Spa has been named the official hotel sponsor for the 23rd Annual Key West Race Week in January 2010.  Sailboats and sailing crews from around the world are to compete in the waters off Key West during 2010 Race Week, presented by Nautica. One of the most prestigious sailing regattas on the international calendar, this racing challenge is scheduled Monday through Friday, Jan. 18-22, 2010.

According to regatta organizers, Key West Race Week’s primary attractions for race teams are the opportunity for January sailing in warm subtropical waters, the ambience of Key West and the high level of competition.
Competitors are to race on courses set over an 8-mile stretch of the Atlantic Ocean just off Key West’s shore and inside the continental United States’ only living coral barrier reef, which parallels the Florida Keys.
