Hotel Viking - Newport RI


Massage Therapist (Regular On Call)

Responsible for delivery of exceptional massage and body treatments. Must have good communication skills and outstanding customer service skills.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.Perform various types of massage treatments i.e., Swedish, Sports massage and specialty massage.
2.Proficiency in all components of massage, i.e., anatomy and physiology.
3.Prepare and maintain treatment area supplies daily.
4.Ensure the privacy of each guest.
5.Follow proper modesty techniques including draping and covering.
6.Attend weekly and/or monthly departmental staff meetings as requested.
7.Conduct tours of the facility as needed, to ensure a pleasant visit of each guest.
8.Assist in maintaining consistent spa inventory and order supplies as needed.
9.Promote and sell massage and body products.
10.Attend product knowledge training as required.
11.On-time attendance and ability to work uninterrupted is required.
12. Ability to lift 20-30 pounds.

Secondary Functions:
1.Work cooperatively with other fellow employees and departments.
2.Perform special tasks as requested by the Spa Director/Lead Therapist.
3.Keep up to standard in cleanliness of massage rooms and general spa area.
4.Respond to requests made by the Director of Rooms and/or General Manager.

ENVIRONMENT: Work indoors in well-ventilated treatment rooms, in and around locker rooms including steam room.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
*High school graduate or equivalent.
*Current license(s) and certificate(s) for massage therapy as required by the state, county, city/town.
*One-year experience administering massage, desired.
*Current CPR certification.
*Ability to work under pressure.
*Good customer service skills.
 

Banquet Houseman (On call)

Set up designated function rooms to group's requirements (including tables/chairs, linens, tabletop items, staging, dance floor, etc.) in accordance with Hotel standards. Maintain cleanliness and working condition of all respective equipment, guest and service areas.

Banquet Manager (Regular FT)

Job responsibilities:
 
Responsible for overall operation of the Banquet Service Department. 
 
At minimum, the Banquet Manager will be accountable for:
·         Hiring, training and directing the banquet staff in servicing all the banquet activities
·         Ensuring hotel service standards and procedures are followed throughout the banquet department
·         Promoting a positive, team-first work environment
·         Ensuring the satisfaction of all banquet guests to drive repeat business
·         Administrative duties; including: weekly schedule and payroll reports, BEO maintenance and organization, and banquet function-billing procedures
 
Job requirements:
 
Comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage preparations; four to five star service standards; guest relations and etiquette; with a minimum of two years of banquet captain or food and beverage supervisory experience. Qualified individuals will have a proven track record in the supervision and/or management of great people in a restaurant and/or hotel banquet environment.

Previous managerial experience is recommended. Must have a flexible schedule to include long hours on the floor. Multi-tasking and organizational skills is a must. Guest relations play a large role in the job as well as dealing with a diversified market of people. Availability to work weekends and holidays is necessary.
