The second season of the HBO hit Westworld debuted in the spring, much to the delight of the series’ fans. The show occupies a unique genre as a “sci-fi western,” and revolves around a Wild West–style amusement park in which wealthy guests can interact with the human-like android hosts who, naturally, have no say in the matter.
Some of the show’s scenes are shot near Gateway, so, bowing to fan interest, Gateway Canyons Resort is offering a Westworld-inspired package, including minibars with cigars and DIY Moscow mules, dinner by campfire, skeet shooting, Westworld-inspired spa treatments, and more. Live a Life of a Rancher
You and a partner spend a day at Palisade Ranch, the property’s 500-acre dude ranch, offering scenery familiar for Westworld viewers. In addition to horseback riding and dinner by campfire light, guests take in Wild West tales to add to the spirit of the evening from the resort’s Curator of Curiosity, Zebulon Miracle.
A Wild West–Inspired Shootout
Guests also get to choose to partake in one of three activities: skeet shooting, archery, or laser tag to simulate a cowboy gun battle without the gore. (Sure, laser tag may not have been in the Wild West, but, hey, this is a science fiction show, after all.)
Wild Delights
Also included in the package is a Native massage for two at the resort’s spa, which features an all-natural exfoliating body mask followed by a customized 50-minute massage with aromatic desert sage oil.
